Organized as part of 107th Indian Science Congress 2020 by the University of Agricultural Sciences Bengaluru in association with Indian Science Congress Association Kolkata.
University of Agricultural Sciences Bengaluru is a premier institution of agricultural education and research in the country. Over the past six decades, UASB has developed several locally relevant production technologies that have substantially enhanced farm productivity in the state and beyond. It has played a pivotal role in carrying out front-line extension involving all the stakeholders for technology dissemination and also identifying problems that require technological interventions.
About Rashtriya Kishore Vaigyanik Sammelan
Each year as part of the Indian Science Congress, the Rashtriya Kishore Vaigyanik Sammelan is organized. It is aimed at showcasing the talent of children through science projects of the (NCSTC-DST) after a nationwide search. These selected children will be the delegates in this conference. A separate set of activities is planned for the student delegates. Children from local schools are provided an opportunity to view these projects and also interact with the young scientists. Apart from this, other science activities are organised on this occasion.
Rashtriya Kishore Vaigyanik Sammelan generally comprises of three days event which encourages children to visualize science and stimulate their scientific temperament by giving the school children a unique platform to showcase their innovation and creativity in scientific projects.
All children are cordially invited to be a part of Children Science Congress hosted by the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore on January 4th, 5th and 6th 2020 at the GKVK Campus, Bangalore.
Details for participation in Children’s Science Congress
- There is no registration fee.
- ID card will be provided at the venue.
- Accommodation (if necessary) will be given.
- Food coupons will be provided at the venue.
- The event will comprise of invited talks by renowned scientists, science exhibitions, workshops, competitions and scientific quizzes for students.
What is planned for the participating students?
A two day event “Rashtriya Kishore Vaigyanik Sammelana” will be held at University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, GKVK as part of the 107th Indian Science Congress on 4th and 5th January 2020. The aim is to provide a unique opportunity for children to view selected projects and interact with the student delegates. Children may visit the Sammelan to view the exhibition either on 4th or 5th January 2020 between 10am and 4pm (1-2pm is lunch break). All school children are cordially invited to participate in Rashtriya Kishore Vaigyanik Sammelan to be hosted by the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru at the GKVK Campus.
Activities planned for the participating children
- One minute video competition.
- INFOSYS FOUNDATION- ISCA TRAVEL AWARDS (for school Children)
- Visit to exhibitions on 4 and 5th between 10am and 4pm (lunch break 1-2pm)
- Live science demonstrations
- Science magic show
Instructions to be followed
- Prizes will be awarded to winners of each language and age category.
- Finalists in each of the four categories will be contacted via email
- Presentation will be on 6th January 2020.
- Judges decision is final.
- Single use plastic is not permitted.
- Children may carry their snacks in reusable boxes and carry reusable water bottles. Water refill stations will be provided.
- Children must be educated about maintaining hygiene.
- The children may make their own arrangements to reach the venue of the exhibition.
